The eGo isn’t as quick as our favourite USB 3 drive, but it’s worth bearing in mind that it offers a huge amount of storage for a price that’s not far removed from many older, slower disks, and that makes it great value. Its read speed of 132.2MB/sec trumped the eGo’s 108.6MB/sec. The Iomega, for instance, read small files at 68.6MB/sec, outpacing the Buffalo’s 42.8MB/sec, but the A-Listed Buffalo took back the initiative with larger files.
